From the Pews in the Back is out. It’s official. Orders have been placed. Shipments are in process.

I can hardly believe it.

Three years ago, Jen & I started wondering if a book could come of our questions. This week, Jesus sends the apostles out to anoint the sick and represent his good word. It must have been a daunting task—traveling with sandals and a tunic, relying on the hospitality of authors. Trusting that they were doing the right thing.

Reflecting on the readings for this week, I can’t help but see a bit of a parallel between the release of From the Pews in the Back and the readings. There’s a bit of a sense of “wow, the book is out there.” We just have to trust that people receive it well. Trust they will be good stewards of the authors and their stories.

This weekend, several authors had From the Pews in the Back parties around the country. We officially stepped out of our comfort zones into the public world of being a published book. It’s a little scary out here, I have to say, but we’re all doing our best to trust the people we come across in our paths.

As a friend of mine is fond of saying, peace be the journey.
